“Say NO to Double Taxing American Companies!”
Some in Congress and the Administration want to impose a new $12 billion tax on American energy companies that would put America’s 9 million energy related jobs at risk and lead to higher gas prices for consumers. The proposal would impose taxes on income from American companies that has already been taxed by foreign governments. Because it wouldn’t apply to foreign owned companies like BP, or companies owned by nations like China or Russia, it would give these companies advantages in competing for exploration and production projects overseas. That would mean fewer jobs for American energy workers and higher costs for American energy consumers.
That’s right: Congress has targeted American energy workers and every American family who depends on affordable energy supplies.
