Dr. Mason Explains Study on CNBC

This morning, Louisiana State University’s Dr. Joseph Mason, the first academic to quantify the costs of the ongoing drilling moratorium, appeared on CNBC to announce his latest analysis on the potential devastating economic consequences of newly proposed tax hikes on America’s energy industry.

The paper, entitled “Regional and National Economic Impact of Repealing the Section 199 Tax Deduction and Dual-capacity Tax Credit for Oil and Gas Producers,” demonstrates that new taxes on the industry would cost over 154,000 jobs and $341 billion in economic activity.
